Wednesday Hodgepodge
Can you believe it? Two Hodgepodge's for me in a row...progress, people! Let's hope I can keep the momentum going for awhile. If you'd like to join in on the fun, all you need to do is answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Here we go...
1. Give us three rhyming words that say something about your Thanksgiving holiday (or your most recent holiday gathering if you didn't celebrate Thanksgiving). Eat, sweep, beat. I'll explain...there was a lot of eating going on. Afterwards, I swept the floor and that night and I was worn out, but it was all worth it!
2. When did you last say 'the more, the merrier'? Did you mean it? I honestly have no idea. I know I use that phrase pretty often, but I can't recall when the last time was or what it was in reference to...sorry.
3. What's one piece of advice you'd give someone who is your same age? Don't take life so seriously. Laugh, act silly, have fun!
4. You're ordering a veggie plate. What four veggies are on it? Roasted potatoes, green beans, fried okra (that's the Southern gal in me), and buttery corn on the cob.
5. Shop 'til you drop? Did you? Have you ever? Will you between now and Christmas? Well, if shopping on Cyber Monday counts, then, yes, I have shopped 'til I nearly dropped. I shopped online from about 8 AM on Monday until around noon or so. After I got home from church, I picked back up until almost 10 PM. Good part...I'm just about DONE!
6. What's your favorite chair in your house? Why is it your favorite? The big, comfy recliner we have in our family room. I love it because it I can kick back in it and relax.
7. Share an early memory of faith, religion, or spirituality. My family and I never attended church together growing up. I remember when I was in the 2nd grade and had a friend named Teresa whose dad was a minister at an Assembly of God church in Hot Springs, AR. They invited me to church, which was a new experience for me. When church got over, they would treat me to a lunch buffet at the Ramada Inn downtown. It made a big impression on me because they were showing me God's grace and love. It was the first stepping stone to my becoming a Christian at the age of 15.
8. Insert your own random thought here. We are knee-deep in rehearsals for our Christmas program at church on Dec. 10-11. Tonight, we'll rehearse from 6-9:45 PM. I didn't realize it until Sunday night that I'm on stage (dead center) for a good part of the program. I'm a tad nervous about it, but God and I have it covered, right? All I pray for is that the message of hope is projected well to all who attend. After all, it isn't about me...it's about HIM! I'm just grateful to be part of it.
Have a terrific Wednesday...come on, rain! We need it so badly here!
