Summer 2015 Vacation-Pt. 4

As you can tell from my previous posts, we're a family who's always up for adventure. So, on this particular day, we decided to hike to the top of Chimney Rock, a 315 ft. granite monolith. Sounds like fun, huh?

We began by taking a little walk into a wooded area that was designed for kids, rather than adults. The girls loved it, though they'd probably never admit it...

Before we sat out to tackle Chimney Rock, we decided to hike to this waterfall. Such a pretty sight...

I cannot begin to express just how much I love these people...

We have been through so much the past nine months and I stand in amazement at how God is repairing our relationships...

Abby decided to pass on hiking to the top of Chimney Rock. I'm here to say that it was a LONG walk up, but, oh, so worth it for views like this one. Looking down on Lake Lure...

Woo hoo...mission accompished!

We're on top of the world...

This gives you an idea of where we had to go to get to the top-some 450 steps...

If you notice where the arrow is pointing, that's Chimney Rock...

After our hike, we decided to walk around some shops in...wait for it...Bat Cave, NC. Don't you just love the name? I thought it was pretty neat to come across a shop with my name on the sign...

Abby is notorious for falling sound asleep in the car on our vacations and this day was no exception...

Bella was thrilled to have her family return...

Here's another view of our cabin. Definitely a place I could easily call HOME...

After dinner, we sat outside on the wrap-around porch and watched the sun go down...

The girls dipped their tired feet in the hot tub...

I lost myself in the beauty surrounding us and my camera was close at my side...

Another day had come and gone...

So much laughter and memories made...and there was great anticipation for what else was in store.
