Wednesday Hodgepodge
Always great to join everyone for Hodgepodge! Would you like to participate? Just answer the questions on your own blog and link up by clicking on the button.
1. What are two or three expectations you have of yourself? To take care of myself...mind, body, and spirit; to be the best mom and wife I can possibly be; to be an honest and loyal friend.
2. In what ways does your outdoor space need sprucing up this spring? Chris and I have been working in our backyard quite a lot lately, so we now have it looking pretty good...
The only thing I can say could use some sprucing up is our front gardens. As soon as the weather starts staying consistently warm, I plan to plant lots of flowers and some shrubs.
3. According to this site (Roadtrippers), six of North America's most wondrous waterfalls are: Webster's Falls in Ontario, Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina, Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, Multnomah Falls in Oregon, The Lower Yellowstone Falls, and Niagara. Have you seen any on the list? Which one on the list would you most like to visit? Prettiest waterfall not on the list you've seen in person? Unfortunately, I have not visited any of the waterfalls listed. Of the choices, I'd probably most like to visit the Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina just because they're the closest in proximity to where I live. One of the prettiest waterfalls I've even seen was in North Carolina, around the town of Franklin. I can't recall the name of it, but you can walk underneath it. Just spectacular...
4. Looking back, what's something you wish you'd done as a teenager? I wish I'd taken up running. I went to a school that was small and didn't offer cross country or track, but I think I would have enjoyed them. Also, I wish I hadn't wasted two years in high school being in a relationship with one guy.
5. Ham-yes, please or no, thank you? If you said, yes, please, which of the following do you like best-baked ham with all the trimmings, a ham and cheese sandwich, prosciutto with melon, a ham biscuit, a bowl of split pea and ham soup, or a slice of pizza topped with ham and pineapple? I'm not a big fan of ham, anymore. If I were to choose, I'd go with a ham biscuit.
6. Are you typical of your generation? How so? That's a tough question. I think I have concerns about the future of my children and our country, like most people my age. However, I tend to think that I act younger than many of my contemporaries in that I like to act silly and goof around. I'll probably never really 'grow up'.
7. April rolls in at the end of the week, and in keeping with that theme...'act the fool', 'nobody's fool', 'a fool's errand', 'could have fooled me'...which foolish idiom most recently applies to you? Explain. I'm going with 'nobody's fool' simply because my girls can attest to the fact that I know how to peel away the layers, if you will, to get to the very heart of the matter. There's no pulling the wool over this momma's eyes.
8. Insert your own random thought here. I am so ready for this pollen to be GONE! Everything is completely covered in yellow. The total pollen count yesterday was a whopping 4107, which is extremely high.
Is pollen a huge problem in your area?
