Wednesday Hodgepodge
Yay...it's that time, again! Time for Hodgepodge! Want to join in on the fun? All you need to do is answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Easy as pie!
1. Has spring sprung in your little corner of the world? Other than the calendar, how would I know? What's your favorite thing about spring? Yes, it has...our yard is starting to turn green, my daylilies are popping out of the ground, and the dogwoods and azaleas in our backyard are beginning to bloom...
My favorite thing about spring is that hearing the birds chirping, seeing blue skies and white, fluffy clouds, and knowing I can begin to work in my flower gardens.
2. Besides the weather, what's putting a spring in your step recently? I'd have to say the new season of 'Dancing With the Stars'. Ginger Zee did an awesome job, as did Jodi Sweetin. Sure makes me want to get out on the dance floor and join right in.
3. How does Easter impact you? I'm a Christian, so Easter is an important day of celebrating that Christ is RISEN! It's a day of renewed hope. It serves as a reminder that this life is only the beginning of magnificent things to come once I reach Heaven...oh, Glorious Day! I already know that emotions will run high for me on Easter Sunday when I'm sitting in church with the three people I love most in life...Chris and my two girls. There is nothing better than when we attend church together, especially in celebration of our risen Savior.
4. I saw this somewhere on Facebook and thought it might make a fun Hodgepodge question. Which of the following would you find most disappointing...a just-stuffed taco shell breaking open and spilling out before you take the first bite? dropping a just-purchased Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts coffee? opening the peanut butter jar and finding it empty? upending onto the sidewalk a just-purchased ice cream cone? a burnt bagel popping up in your toaster when you're rushing breakfast? or cutting into an avocado and finding out it's rotten? I don't really find any of the situations listed necessarily disappointing...probably more annoying than anything else. However, if I had to choose one, it would likely be having my taco break open and spill out before my first bite.
5. What's something held together with tape at your house? Or a paper clip? Or a wing and a prayer? I often feel like my sanity is being held together on a wing and a prayer. Who's with me?
6. Do you feel underappreciated? In what way? Yes, I think we all feel underappreciated in one way or another from time-to-time. I might spend a few hours doing the laundry only to have no one notice the time it took me. I might spend half the day cleaning the house and no one makes mention of how nice it looks. As a stay-at-home mom, things can go unnoticed, primarily the everyday mundane things I do to keep our household running. However, there are many times when what I do gets noticed and I'm told how much I'm loved and appreciated, which makes it all worthwhile. Being a wife and a mom can be hard at times...REALLY hard, but if I had to do it all over, again, I'd still choose the same path without question. I see it as my calling in life.
7. What's something you'd build if you knew how? A log cabin. Actually, it's something Chris and I talk about often. We'd love to purchase one of those log cabin kits and build it from the ground up somewhere in the hills of Tennessee. The problem is it would probably take us years to complete and my patience would run dry by then.
8. Insert your own random thought here. The pollen count here in Georgia is crazy! Cars are covered in the yellow stuff and whenever I step foot outside, I can feel my nose becoming congested. Maybe the rain we're getting in a few days will wash it all away...let's hope!
Is pollen a problem in your area? Wishing each of you a BLESSED EASTER!
