Wednesday Hodgepodge
I love participating in Hodgepodge! Are you interested in joining in on the fun, too? Just answer the questions on your own blog and link up by clicking on the button. That's all there is to it.
1. I read a list of 13 things you should do in June. I'm paraphrasing a little, but basically...Go on a road trip with your best friend, pick strawberries, host a garden party, take a morning run, treat yourself to a flower bouquet, spend a whole day hiking, discover a new coffee shop, try a new ice cream flavor, read at least one book, visit a Farmer's Market, make a swing for your home, and visit a new city. Which thing on the list do you most want to do? Of the activities listed, which holds the least appeal? How many on the list will you attempt in June? What's one thing you'd add to the list? I enjoy going on morning runs before I start my day and I could easily spend a whole day hiking. However, I've been wanting to pick strawberries since they've been in season. I have no interest in discovering a new coffee shop because I don't drink coffee. Out of the list, I'll attempt to do eight of them. One thing I'd add to the list is go white water rafting. We went for the first time last summer and plan to do it, again, this summer. Talk about FUN!
2. What's something you could do today to feel more peaceful? Pray, spend time outdoors, and work in my gardens.
3. June 7th is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. Are you a fan? Swiss mocha, rocky road, chocolate chocolate chip, peanut butter and chocolate, or a dish of plain ol' chocolate...what's your pleasure? I do like chocolate ice cream, though I don't eat it very often. I'm not a big fan of the flavors listed...my favorite is Mayfield's Mint Chocolate Chip.
4. If you came with a warning, what would it say? 'Stand clear...she's short, but mighty!'
5. What's the most interesting website you've visited in the last week? I don't visit many websites, so I'll just have to go with Google. Lame, I know.
6. Summer, spring, autumn, winter...which season are you? Why? Definitely spring...my name is April, after all!
7. 'You lose sight of things...and when you travel, everything balances out.'~Daranna Gidel Would you agree with this sentiment? Explain why or why not. Yes, I do agree. Everyday life can be hectic, at times. It's so easy to get caught up in deadlines, duties, etc. that you lose sight of what's really important...family, friends, even God. For me, when I travel, particularly with Chris and the girls, it gives me a chance to take a step back and really appreciate the time we have together and the opportunity to make lasting memories. Therefore, it puts things in perfect perspective...in my mind and in my heart.
8. Insert your own random thought here. My hot flashes are becoming ridiculous lately. I can be sitting on the sofa and, out of nowhere, feel the heat rising from my feet straight up to my head. When I'm lying in bed at night, I have to stick my leg out from under the covers to stay cool...and we sleep with our ceiling fan on full blast. I really hope they don't last long, Anyone else who can relate?
This growing O-L-D stuff is for the birds sometimes!
