Welcome To December

Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving...we did! Brittany came home on Tuesday evening and Chris's mom and brother got here on Wednesday night. They brought their two dogs with them. So, we had six people and four dogs under one roof...it definitely got a little crazy, at times.

Brittany and I did the majority of the cooking and baking ourselves. Abby got off work at 11:15 PM on Wednesday night, so she slept in late on Thanksgiving Day morning. We had turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, yeast rolls and two pies...coconut cream and apple.

Abby was anxious for the dressing to come out of the oven...

Chris and his mom were putting the turkey meat on the platter and the girls were finishing up some last-minute details...

I present to you our glorious apple pie...

And our divine coconut cream pie...

I have no idea why I didn't snap a photo of all of us gathered around the table after we said the blessing, but I completely forgot. Guess I was just ready to sit down and EAT...

The meal was enjoyed by everyone and our hearts were full of thanksgiving for having the opportunity to be together. Bless Abby's heart...she had to report to work at 3 AM on Black Friday. I got up at 2 AM and made her breakfast so she would have some energy to get through her 11-hour shift. She was exhausted when she got home. My mother-in-law, Brittany, and I all went shopping for a little while on Black Friday...we found a few items, but nothing spectacular. We were home by 2 PM.

My in-laws left on Saturday morning, then the girls and I headed out to do some shopping. We decided to put up our Christmas tree that evening.  Here it is along with the new furniture we got for our family room. I'm pleased with how it all looks...

I still can hardly believe that today is the 1st day of December. Good thing is I'm just about done with my Christmas shopping! Would you believe I've done it all online? Even got some good bargains yesterday during Cyber Monday. Now, I can kick back and enjoy the season for all it's worth!

How about you? Are you close to being done with your Christmas shopping or have you even started it yet?
