Hey, friends! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Can you believe it's 2016 already? Seems like Christmas was here one minute and gone the next. My family and I really enjoyed our time together and I so needed to step away from the things that keep me busy on a daily basis and just relish in being completely present in the moment. Loved every second of it! That said, I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of our time together. My apologies for the overload.
The first five photos were taken on Christmas Eve before we went to church...
The girls were attempting to create an 'awkward prom photo'...
The three of us acting silly, as usual...
I had mentioned prior to Christmas that I was making something for my girls and for Chris. Well, I gave it to them after our steak dinner on Christmas Eve. I wrote each of them a letter by hand and put it in a frame. I covered the mat with fabric with the help of Mod Podge. I think they were a big hit...
We always give the girls jammies to wear on Christmas morning. This year I made them shirts to match. Abby is wearing hers. You may ask what is happening here. Well, the four of us decided to play a game of egg roulette. Have you ever seen it done on Jimmy Fallon's show? We had a dozen eggs and four were raw; the rest were boiled. We took turns grabbing an egg and cracking it on our heads. Needless to say, Abby and I lost BIG TIME...
Here's the girls on Christmas Day morning opening their stockings...
No, Chris isn't wearing a pair of cataract glasses. Brace yourself...they're golfball finding glasses that Abby got for him and they work like magic...
Bella was thrilled with the Busy Bone Santa brought her...
And here's some of the aftermath...
Around 4 PM that afternoon, my mother-in-law and brother-in-law showed up to surprise Chris. He was in the basement and they walked downstairs and stood there quietly. After about 30 secs., he looked around at them and said, 'What all y'all doing here?' Pretty funny! Here's my brother-in-law busily opening one of his gifts...
My mother-in-law is showing off her new cape...
Later that night, we played a game of Chicken Feet...
This is an apple-pecan bundt cake I made and it melted in our mouths...
I couldn't fight the urge to make a batch of coconut macaroons. If you like Mounds bars as much as I do, you'd love these...
My in-laws left to go home on Sunday morning, so I convinced the girls to step outside and let me take their picture. As always, laughter ensued...
Bella climbed up underneath the Christmas tree that afternoon almost like she was sad that Christmas was over...
All Maddie seemed interested in was taking a nice, long nap...
I look forward to visiting your blogs to see how your Christmas went. The weather was unseasonably warm here in Georgia, but we still managed to keep the spirit of Christmas alive and well. All that mattered to this momma's heart is having my family under one roof and simply loving each other.
