Happy to be back today for Hodgepodge! All you have to do is answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Join us, won't you?
1. When is your next big deadline? What's it for? Though it isn't my own one, it's a big deal to me. Abby has until May 27th to complete her online schooling in order to walk with her class. Her other option is to complete everything by June 15th and not walk, but still earn her diploma. She's been working diligently every day to make it happen because if she doesn't meet either deadline, she won't be done until December. Pray she continues to dig deep to accomplish her goal.
2. May is National Barbecue Month. Do you prefer cooking indoors or out? What's the best thing about a barbecue? What's the last thing you cooked on a grill? I prefer cooking outdoors because there's very little mess and clean-up involved. The last thing we cooked on a grill was hamburgers on Mother's Day for lunch.
3. What is one thing on your 'never again' list? I tried escargot once when I was in high school and I can wholeheartedly proclaim very proudly that I will NEVER do that, again!
4. What's something that annoys you about people your own age? Something you love about your generation? I get annoyed when I see women who are 50 + yrs.old who they dress like they're still in their early to mid-20's...cut-off jean shorts, tight jeans with holes in them, belly shirts, short skirts, etc. What I love about my generation is that we still know how to have fun and we're open to adventure. Plus, I think we're more interested in health and fitness than some younger generations.
5. Lilac, iris, hyacinth, pansy...your favorite purple flower? I love purple pansies. I plant them, along with yellows ones, in my front beds each fall and they continue to bloom until mid-summer.
6. What's a song that always calms you down? 'Soul on Fire' by Third Day. It may not sound calming, but the words work wonders on me. Love it BIG time!
7. What's the last thing you donated? Several bags of clothes and shoes to Goodwill.
8. Insert your own random thought here. For those of you who may not have heard, Abby moved back home one week ago Monday. She had sent me a text letting me know her plans, but we weren't sure she'd, actually, follow through. However, around 5 PM that night, Austin brought her home along with her belongings. She wrapped her arms around Chris and clung to him like I've never witnessed in all her 18 1/2 yrs. It's been a trying 7 months for our family since she left, as you know. However, we serve one awesome God and I always believed deep down that He would bring our prodigal home. Prayer works, my friends! For all of you who lifted Abby and our family up in your prayers all these months, please know that I'm eternally grateful. We have some healing to do, but I know that God will make a way!
'But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.'~Luke 15:20
