Feels good to be joining all the ladies, again, for Hodgepodge! If you'd like to join us, simply answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Easy peasy!
1. Last thing you did on spur of the moment? Well, for quite some time now, I've been thinking of running up a huge hill at the park where I go to exercise every week. It's, actually, the one that Brittany's high school cross country team had to run up as they finished their time trials. So, I bit the bullet and went for it. The first day, I made it about halfway to the top. However, the second day, I owned it! Ran all the way up and over without stopping one time! Yay, me! I've always been somewhat intimidated by it, but on the spur of the moment, I decided that the time was now to prove to myself I could do it...and I did!
2. How well-informed do you feel about the current Syrian refugee crisis? Somewhat. I have seen reports about it on the national news and it pains me to watch the injustices that have happened to human beings.
3. What have you changed your mind about? Miley Cyrus. Did you happen to see how she conducted herself at the recent VMA's? I saw clips of it here and there and was so appalled. Let's just say that 'Hannah Montana' is nothing but a faded memory. What's more is that her parents were in the audience laughing at and applauding her antics. Call me old-fashioned, but I just don't get it. She used to be so cute and innocent...not anymore. It's sad to say that she may likely become another statistic one day...
4. A medium sized non-poisonous snake made it's way into the pool trap this weekend. If you'd been sitting poolside, would you have fished it out? Gone running? Called for help? Pretended not to know? Continued swimming? I'd go running for help! There is no way I'd fish a snake out by myself and I sure wouldn't pretend not to know. I'd want it GONE!
5. September 10th is National TV Dinner Day...what's your idea of a great TV dinner? (Or, at least, a pretty good one!) I don't eat TV dinners. However, if I planned to eat dinner and watch TV, I might choose a flatbread pizza to enjoy with lots of veggies.
6. Samuel Johnson is quoted as saying, 'Courage is reckoned the greatest of all virtues; because, unless a man has that virtue, he has no security for preserving any other.' Would you agree? Where have you seen that played out recently? What's the second greatest virtue? I would say there is a lot of truth to that quote, though I don't necessarily believe that courage is the greatest virtue of all. With all of the recent shootings of police officers, whenever an officer goes on duty, I'm amazed at the amount of courage it takes for them to continue to do their job. The second greatest virtue, to me, would be honesty.
7. What are three words you have trouble remembering how to spell? receive, dilemma, conspicuous.
8. Insert your own random thought here. I pulled some weeds in our gardens yesterday afternoon. So, at bedtime, I noticed some bumps on my neck right below my chin. First thought was that I'm breaking out in adult acne, so I put some pimple cream on them. This morning, I noticed that those same bumps are starting to itch. I'm thinking I got into some poison oak or poison ivy yesterday. Needless to say, if that's the case, I hope the stuff doesn't spread all over my face! Trying not to scratch it, but it sure isn't easy.
