Wednesday Hodgepodge

Good morning, friends! The sun is shining, temps. are supposed to reach 80 today, and it's time for Hodgepodge! Sounds like a mighty fine day to me! If you'd like to participate, just answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Now, let's get started...

1.  It's October, so let's get this out there first thing...have you jumped on the all-things-pumpkin bandwagon? How so? I have a few fake pumpkins sitting on our hearth in the family room, but that's as 'pumpkin' as I've gotten. I'm just not a fan of the taste of pumpkin.

2.  'We have more power than will; and it is often by way to excuse ourselves that we fancy things are impossible.'~Francois Duc de la Rochefoucauld  What's something you once thought impossible, but in hindsight see more as a lack of will?  I'm going to have to take a pass on this one. I've thought and thought, but have still come up with zero.

3.  The rose is America's national flower, but every state has it's own. Are you happy with yours? If you were in charge, what would you declare your state's flower? If you're outside the US, what bloom would you like to see labeled as your country's national flower? Georgia's state flower is the cherokee rose, which I've never heard of, to be honest. Here's what it looks like...

In my opinion, it's nothing spectacular. My choice would either be the gardenia or the magnolia.

4.  What have you lost interest in recently? Bread and I'm not sure why. I've all but eliminated it from my diet.

5.  In your opinion. who's the best living musician? Wow, tough question. I'm going with Neil Diamond. His songs still touch me deeply. Plus, he continues to have the energy of a 20 year old whenever he performs!

6.  S'mores-love 'em or no? Ever make them indoors? Last time you sat around an outdoor fire? Are making s'more and sitting around a fire pit on your autumn bucket list? Do you have an autumn bucket list? As much as I love chocolate, I'm not a big fan of s'mores. They're too rich and make my fingers sticky. One bite is enough for me. I have tried making them indoors before, but it was a mess. The last time I sat around an outdoor fire was on our summer vacation in North Carolina in July. No, I don't have any immediate plans to sit around a fire pit this autumn and the only thing I have on my autumn bucket list is going to a corn maze. So much fun!

7.  Your favorite small town? Why?  I have a lot of favorite small towns, but I'm going with Jessieville, Arkansas. It's where I went to school from the 5th-12th grades. I haven't been back there since 2002 for my 20th high school reunion, but it still felt like HOME to me, even after all these years. It's the kind of place where everyone knows each other and I love that...far cry from over-populated Atlanta.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.  I received an e-mail from my GYN. the other day informing his patients that he's moving to Florida. Since I've been seeing him, he's moved his office three times and it's become inconvenient and annoying. Plus, his office staff isn't very professional. So, I drove to his new 'temporary' office yesterday to drop off the form to have my records transferred to a new physician. The lady who's been in charge of his front desk was there wearing a very revealing running bra. I'm sure my eyes bugged straight out of my head. Keep in mind that he's still seeing patients there. Needless to say, I'm happy that I'm moving on...it's time.
