Captured

I've decided to take the day off from my morning walk/run. I went to the park yesterday morning and pulled a muscle in the arch of my foot that's causing a fair amount of pain, so I'm going to take it easy today and give it time to mend. Oh, and I have a pulled muscle in my back, too. I feel like I'm falling apart here lately. Growing older...I'm becoming less of a fan with each passing day.

Just as I crawled into bed last night at 11 PM, Abby called to tell me that she'd been involved in a fender bender. Great. So, I had to throw some clothes on and head to the local gas station where she was waiting for a police officer. Needless to say, she was at fault. The light turned green and the car in front of her attempted to make the light, but it turned red before they could pull through, so he stopped abruptly and Abby hit him from behind. We didn't get home until after midnight. The folks she hit were so nice. In fact, the woman told us all about her trip to TX. to see the stars of the TV show 'Fixer Upper' and even showed us some photos she'd taken. They were driving a brand new Infinity SUV. Thankfully, the damage was minimal on their vehicle and on Abby's car. Grateful no one was hurt...the horrific mass killing in Orlando a few days ago really drives that point home.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of taking more wildlife photos. It's just been so miserably hot here lately that I have to do it in spurts.

I spotted this red-headed woodpecker shortly after he landed on our roof...

Isn't this little chipmunk the most precious thing? He's found a way to climb on the birdfeeder and load up...

Hmm. Looks like Mr.Squirrel is the real culprit...

A shady tree is a good place to take a rest from the hot midday sun...

There's just something I love about flower butts...

One of my coneflowers in all its glory...

'To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.'~ElliottW

Here's hoping  you find something today that captures your attention.
