Blessed Mother's Day Weekend

Abby has been moved back home for one week today. I had times when I thought the day would never come. I can't tell you how great it is to have her here, again. I love having her around to talk to and laugh with on a daily basis. There simply isn't anything better right now. Thankfully, we've had more highs than lows. She went out this weekend with Austin and got home 15 mins. before the time we'd asked her to be home. Let's just all pray that continues. One thing I've learned from all of this is to not let my guard down, but with each and every passing day, I'm learning to trust her more and allow God to rebuild our relationship.

On Friday, Chris took it upon himself to climb a ladder and begin sawing down some limbs on the trees in our backyard. The man knows no bounds! Well, though you can't tell in this photo, he was about 20 ft. off the ground. The limb he's sawing broke free and knocked the ladder out from under him. So, he grabbed hold of the tree truck and slid all the way down. He scraped his arm up pretty badly and a vessel in his eye burst. It's any wonder he didn't break every bone in his body...

Brittany surprised me by coming home on Friday night to celebrate Mother's Day. She brought Peaches with her. We went out for lunch on Saturday (her treat) and she bought a leash so Peaches could go outside. I laughed so hard and Bella had no clue what to think herself...

Peaches stretched out on the cool grass and I just had to take a shot of those bunny feet. Now, I do have a funny story to share. On Saturday night, Brittany was holding Peaches and saw what she thought were tumors around his backside. After doing some research, she soon discovered that Peaches isn't a girl, but a boy. We got so tickled upon hearing the news! So, she promptly changed his name from Peaches to Mr. Peaches...

The four of us went to church together as a family on Mother's Day. It's been awhile since we've had that opportunity and I, literally, had to fight back the tears during the service. All the while I was thanking God for restoring my family. I have an unwavering love for my girls and I'll always be here for them, no matter what life throws our way. Austin's Shih Tzu, Gizmo, was here for a visit. She terrorized Brittany, for some reason, and that's why the girls are laughing...

She may look innocent here, but she's like a canine Piranha...

I really couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day. I was treated with genuine love, respect, and consideration. I'm beyond blessed to have had my whole family with me and I felt so honored. Thanks be to God for all He's done!
