Hope you had a wonderful Easter...we sure did! Brittany came home on Good Friday after she got off work. Chris took us to dinner at a local Japanese Steakhouse and we ate more fried rice and hibachi chicken than I care to admit. Let me just say that it was worth every calorie!
On Saturday, the girls and I went shopping for a little while and I made a Rainbow Cake for our Easter meal. It was my first time to try one and Abby, actually, suggested it as she'd seen a video about how to do it.
It didn't look all that impressive when it came out of the bundt pan...
But, when I sliced into it, I was like, 'What...I made that???' Just look at those vibrant colors! I think I could very well give the Cake Boss a run for his money with this one...
Brittany spent that evening working on a scrapbook for her boyfriend's 30th birthday. She asked his closest family and friends to send her letters they've written regarding memories they have of David. I'm sure he's going to love it...
Easter Sunday at church with my little family beside me in the pews...I can't think of anything that makes my heart happier. Worshipping a Risen Savior who has overcome the world...amazing in every way! After the service, we stopped by the house to take some photos. Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and rainy outside, so we opted for an indoor photo session...
The girls always have to take an 'awkward prom photo' together, which always leads to lots of laughter. Nice wad of gum, Abby...
Yes, Brittany and I even had to get in on the act...
I will never grow weary of that wonderful feeling of having my girls wrapped closely in my arms...
I stop and think about how far God has brought my family and I. He has seen us through many highs and lows and my heart is filled with gratitude. I'm sure that we'll be faced with more challenges in the future...as is life, but I know that God will continue to be with us every step of the way.
I look forward to hearing how your Easter went! Enjoy your Tuesday, friends!
