Wednesday Hodgepodge

So wonderful to be back for Hodgepodge this morning! It's been far too long! If you'd like to join in, all you have to do is answer the questions on your own blog and link up. That's all there is to it!

1.  June is National Great Outdoors Month. Have you spent any time appreciating the great outdoors this month? If so, where, and if not, do you have any plans to enjoy the great outdoors before the calendar turns? Every single day, I spend time outdoors. In the morning, I go to one of our local parks and run/walk for about an hour. I never fail to see deer, geese, butterflies, birds, etc. I would much prefer to be outdoors than indoors in the summertime, as long as the heat and humidity aren't overwhelming.

2.  What's a current hot button issue for you? It seems that everyday, I read stories in the paper or on the Internet of how people mistreat their dogs, such as duct taping their noses shut or tossing them from bridges. I can't stand the thought of an innocent animal, namely a dog, being abused. I'm a huge dog lover and I've had a dog ever since I was a kid and it's something I will never be able to wrap my head around.

3.  What's a food or treat that 'disappears like hotcakes' in your house? Definitely ice cream/sherbet...Abby and Chris love it!

4.  How hot is too hot?  When the temp. reaches 90 degrees and above, that's when I begin to become pretty miserable. What's makes it unbearable here in Georgia is the high humidity...it's been awful lately!

5.  Do you have an artistic outlook on life? What does that mean to you? Yes, I would say I do. My family will tell you that I never fail to make comments about 'fluffy' white clouds in the sky or how a certain little child or an elderly person is just 'precious'. In other words, I seem to notice everything around me and I use plenty of adjectives to describe what I see. To me, that's having an artistic outlook on life.

6.  What's one question you'd like to ask your father, or even one you wish you could ask your father? My dad passed away in 2006. I'd love to have the opportunity to ask him how he felt when he first laid eyes on my mom and what was that caused him to fall in love with her.

7.  Something you learned from your father. My dad instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep love for my country.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Chris flew out this morning for Hermosilla, Mexico. He had to go there for business and won't be home until Saturday. He keeps getting travel alerts regarding that region of Mexico and how he needs to use extreme caution. I'll be so relieved when he comes home. Please pray for his safety.
