Wednesday Hodgepodge
I've been away far too long! We returned from our family vacation to beautiful Blue Ridge, GA. on Sunday and I'm still playing catch-up. Might take me a bit to get clipping along, again, but I'll get there sooner or later, I'm sure. For now, I'm happy to be linking up for Hodgepodge! Like to join, too? All you need to do is answer the questions on your own blog, click the button and link up.
1. Are you watching the Olympics? Your favorite summer Olympic event? I read recently a list of the most iconic Olympic moments in history...which stands out as a great moment from some past summer Olympic games? Yes, I'm definitely watching as much as I can, primarily in the evening. My favorite summer Olympic event is swimming. I can still recall the excitement of seeing Mary Lou Retton earn the gold for gymnastics. Electrifying, to say the least!
2. Have you ever been to Rio? How about the place that started it all-Greece? Have you ever been to any of the Olympic games in person? Is that something you'd like to do? Have you ever met an Olympian in person? I have never been to Rio or Greece, unfortunately. No, I have never been to any of the Olympic games and I prefer to watch them from the comfort of my own home. I have never met an Olympian in person.
3. The ball's in their court (tennis), cross the finish line (track and field), on target (archery), make a splash (diving), on a roll (gymnastics), out of one's depth (swimming)...which Olympic-related idiom best describes your life right now? Explain. I'm going with out of one's depth. I'm assuming that means the same as stepping out of your comfort zone because I am definitely doing that this week at church. I'll explain more in an upcoming post...IF I muster up the courage to actually follow through, that is.
4. What have you earned a 'gold medal' in recently? Challenging myself to become stronger in many ways.
5. What is it (or who is it) that motivates you to eat right, exercise, and do what you can to be healthy? I motivate myself and don't rely on anyone else for that. I feel better, mentally and physically, when I do what I can to eat right and to exercise regularly.
6. Are you young at heart or an old soul? Explain. No question...young at heart and that's the way I intend to stay! I'm not about to grow up any time soon! I love dancing around, singing to the top of my lungs, laughing, and acting silly. Life's too short to do, otherwise!
7. It's National S'mores Day (August 10th)...are you a fan? Will you celebrate with a s'more today? I do like a s'more once in a blue moon, but they're just too rich for me. No, I will not be celebrating with a s'more today.
8. Insert your own random thought here. We had such a fun family vacation last week in the mountains! We went horseback riding and white water rafting down Class 3 and 4 rapids. So much fun...I can't even begin to tell you! One day, the girls and I went tubing on the Toccoa River. Right as I was attempting to get in my tube, I missed it completely and fell underwater and even hit my shoulder on a big rock. I came back up and the girls were laughing hysterically. I must admit, it was pretty funny! I'm sure I'll never live that one down. As soon as I find time to edit my photos, I'll be sharing all about our adventures, so be watching for them!
