Last Friday, Brittany packed up the belongings she brought with her to live with us for a month while she transitioned into her new job 50 miles away and waited for her apartment to become available. Chris drove back down to Macon with her to help her pack up her apartment there. On Saturday morning, her boyfriend, David, and his brother, Joshua, met them there to offer their help. Once they got everything loaded in the U-Haul, I left to meet them at her new apartment to help her move in.
It took close to a couple of hours to get everything offloaded and her bed put together. Once all the boxes were inside her apartment, we began unpacking them, one by one, so we could decide where everything needed to go.
Here's what her kitchen looked like during the process...
A shot of her living room area...
Her bedroom...
Here's the living room after her curtains and canvas were hung...
And another view. It's going to take about five days for her cable and Internet to get hooked up. How will she ever survive?
We went out for dinner around 4:30 PM because we hadn't had any lunch and were starving. Came back and worked a few more hours on getting everything set up. It was close to 8 PM by the time Chris and I left. Brittany and I were all smiles, but we both were so exhausted we were barely able to stand upright...
All in all, move-in day was a success! Yesterday was her first day to drive to work from her new apartment and it only took her 30 mins., as opposed to the 2 hours it took her while she lived here with us. Such a huge improvement!
And so another chapter begins. Still learning to let go and watch her SOAR!
