Glimpses Of Christmas 2016

As the saying goes, 'Better late than never!' My apologies for taking as long as I have to get my Christmas post up. I know I'm way behind in comparison to the majority of you. Do know that my intentions are good, but life sure has a way of kicking things a little sideways from time-to-time. I wanted to share some pictures from our Christmas together.

Brittany was home with us for 5 whole days. Do you know how happy it makes me to have my little family together? Over-the-moon giddy! On Christmas Eve, we went to the service at our church at 4 PM. It was simply wonderful...the kind that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and, oh, so grateful for Christ's birth. Once the service was over, we took some family photos. This one was a favorite...

Then, we enjoyed a nice steak dinner in our dining room, which is our annual tradition. Once we finished dinner, Chris and I gave the girls their Christmas Eve gifts...mermaid blankets. Aren't they the neatest things? Big hit!

We started a new tradition this year, per Abby's suggestion, that we open our stockings on Christmas Eve, too. Chris and I got each other stocking stuffers and the same was true with the girls. Such fun to see what we each got...

Our tree before everything was opened on Christmas morning...

 And so the fun began...

This was one of my favorite gifts from Chris. He got me a hand casting kit so that the 4 of us can make a casting of our hands intertwined as a keepsake. We have to wait until Brittany's next visit home to give it a go, but I can't wait to see how it turns out...

The afternoon on Christmas Day, once all our presents were opened and the living room was cleaned up, we hit the road for South Carolina to spend a couple of days with my mother-in-law and brother-in-law.  We ate a nice dinner, then we gathered around for Christmas round 2. It was crazy warm with temps. in the upper 70's...

Plenty of memories made, laughter enjoyed, and hearts content. Enough said.
