Wednesday Hodgepodge
Christmas is only four days away, but I still wanted to make time for Hodgepodge. If you'd like to join along, all you have to do is answer the questions on your own blog and link up. Such fun!
1. What's left to be done on your Christmas to-do list? I have all of my shopping done, so the only thing I need to do is to prepare some desserts for my family and I to enjoy. One of our yearly favorites is Pistachio Ambrosia.
2. The Hodgepodge lands on the first day of winter this year. What's your favorite thing about winter? I'm a warm weather kind of gal, so I'm not a big fan of winter. If I had to pick a favorite thing about winter, which is a stretch, it would have to be being able to cozy up underneath the warmth of an electric blanket.

3. In what area of your life are you immature? Feel free to elaborate or not. Probably in some of my actions because I like to kid around a lot and act silly. Life is far too short to be serious 24/7.
4. What was the most (or one of the most) important lessons you learned in 2016? I have learned that I can only control so much, namely myself and my own actions. Outside of that, the rest is up to God.
5. It's Fried Shrimp Day...are you a fan? What's your favorite way to eat shrimp? Will there be shrimp somewhere in your holiday feastings? Not really. I mean, I can eat it, but it's not something I crave. I like catfish so much more. If I do eat shrimp, I like it grilled on a skewer. Shrimp will not be part of my holiday feastings.
6. What sound lulls you to sleep? Actually, I have three sounds that lull me to sleep. The first is a steady rain, even with a little thunder. The other two are white noise and the whirl of a ceiling fan. Each night, I have to turn on the ceiling fan in our bedroom to the highest speed (which is cold in the winter) and my white noise sound machine by my bedside. I can't fall asleep easily without either one.
7. What's one word that best describes your 2016? Secure. More secure in my faith, in my role as a wife and a mom, and in my 52 year-old body.
8. Insert your own random thought here. I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas. So grateful for your friendship! May 2017 bring countless blessings to you all!
