Another busy week is in the books and summertime is in full swing. Abby has been sick this week with a sinus/upper respiratory infection. I had to take her to the doctor on Monday as she didn't feel well enough to even make it to class. She was put on antibiotics and is feeling better, but still has a cough. Then, Chris came home on Tuesday evening, one day earlier than expected, because he felt under the weather, as well. He crawled into bed in the guest room and slept there the rest of the night. By morning, he was back to his old self, again. So far, Brittany and I have managed to stay well...which may be due to my spraying everything down with Lysol frequently. I'm not taking any chances.
Last week, Abby asked that I go to a local art museum with her so that she could earn 10 extra points for her art class. We had a fun time walking around and looking at all the different and interesting pieces...
I about had a fit the other day when I looked out our back door and saw this chipmunk stretched out in the sunshine on our deck. I quickly grabbed my camera, which I always keep nearby and ready to go, and walked on the deck every so gingerly. I kept creeping closer and closer, praying I didn't scare him off. He allowed me to get within about 5 ft. of him to snap this shot...
Then, I turned around and spotted this beautiful butterfly on my yellow dahlias. I felt like I'd hit the jackpot...
Just a day or two later, we experienced the most spectacular sunset. Brittany and I ran outside and down by the lake to capture it. All we kept saying is, 'Wow!'...
Tomorrow night, as part of Brittany's Father's Day gift to Chris, we're all going to Top Golf for some golfing fun! It seems to be all the rage and Chris has been dying to go...
I'm sure we'll make some lasting memories and maybe even prove to Chris that girls can golf well, too!
Have yourselves a terrific weekend and try your best to stay cool! This heat is no joke!
